Kerala Overview Tours - Central & North Kerala ( 6 Nights, 7 Days )
Day 01 Cochin and Marari
Arrive at Cochin. You will be received at the airport/station and taken to a beach resort in Marari. Rest of the day free to relax or enjoy your day at the beach. Activities include cycling, visit to a fishing village and coir factory, Ayurveda/Yoga, country canoe rides etc. Overnight stay at the resort.
Day 02 Alleppey
Morning proceed to Alleppey, a district of immense natural beauty. Referred to as the Venice of the East by travellers from across the world. This backwater country is also home to diverse animal and bird life. With the Arabian Sea on the west and a vast network of lakes, lagoons and fresh water rivers crisscrossing it and by virtue of its proximity to the sea, the town has always enjoyed a unique place in the maritime history of Kerala. On arrival check into a traditional houseboat. Cruise through the backwaters and stay overnight on the boat.
Day 03 Cochin
In the morning, drive to Cochin. On arrival at the "Queen of The Arabian Sea", check into the hotel. After lunch proceed for city tour covering Jewish Synagogue-Built in 1568 the oldest synagogue in the Commonwealth stands, adorned by hundreds of exquisite hand-painted Chinese tiles in blue and white. St Francis Church, originally built out of wood in 1503 and thus earning fame as the oldest European Church in India (Vasco de Gama was buried here). Dutch Palace-As you climb it's stone steps, you enter a different world of Palanquins and heraldry, jewels and rich murals. Walk around the cobbled streets. In the evening you are free for shopping. Late evening enjoy a Kathakali dance show and sunset tour. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 04 Calicut
In the morning depart from Cochin for Calicut. On the way stop at Guruvayoor - Sree Krishna Temple, which is the most sacred and important pilgrim centre. Visit Punnathoorkotta, the home of 50 temple elephants which offers unusual spectacles of the gentle pachyderm. Arrive at Beypore, one of the prominent ports and fishing harbours of ancient India and shipbuilding industry which boasts of a tradition of almost 1500 years. Check into resort for overnight stay.
Day 05 Wayanad
After breakfast, drive to Wayanad. Hidden away in the hills of this land are some of the oldest tribes, untouched by civilization. Picturesque mist clad hill stations, sprawling spice plantations, luxuriant forests and rich cultural traditions are seen in abundance at Wayanad. Check into a tree house, freshen up and proceed for sightseeing, which includes a trek to the Edakkal caves, picnic at the Wayanad hill resorts etc. Overnight stay at the Tree house.
Day 06 Calicut
In the morning, continue sightseeing of spice plantations and Pazhassi Tomb, visit wild life sanctuaries etc. After lunch, drive to Calicut. Sightseeing includes - Beypore, one of the prominent ports and fishing harbours of ancient India and shipbuilding industry. Check into hotel for overnight stay.
Day 07 Departure
Transfer to Calicut Railway Station/Airport to connect Train/Flight for your return journey.
